Career Opportunity for Tax Manager with Cannabis Industry Experience

Restivo Monacelli LLP, an innovative tax, accounting and business advisory firm is currently seeking a Tax Manager for its industry-leading Cannabis Practice Group (position can be performed remotely with some travel required).

  • Prepare, supervise and review complex income tax returns for multi-state operators, dispensaries, processors, cultivators and ancillary cannabis companies in both the recreational and medical space. 

  • Research and solve for complex tax issues, including IRC §280E, and present creative, forward-thinking solutions

  • Analyze financial information and participate in the forecast process

  • Lead all phases of an assignment including, strategy, research, planning, compliance and thorough review/analysis

  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to communications from the IRS and other taxing authorities

  • Develop strong working relationships with clients built around a clear understanding of their businesses, industry and challenges?

Position Requirements & Essential Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or closely related field; Masters Degree and CPA license a plus

  • 4+ years of relevant public accounting experience

  • Knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, including IRC §280E and State Tax Laws for the cannabis industry

  • Committed to staying ahead of the curve on industry trends, regulations and resources, and growing professionally

  • Technical proficiency with software programs such as Prosystem fx Tax, Prosystem fx Engagement, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and results-based environment

  • Must be able to work both in a team and independently

  • Must possess leadership and relationship-building skills in order to further drive the firm’s growth and success
