Job Title: Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Manager

Department: Cultivation

Reports to: Chief Production Offer

FLSA Status: Regular- Exempt

Salary: Negotiable

Location: Quincy, FL

Role Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Manager will champion and drive execution of enterprise initiatives, including the Lean Strategy, to achieve customer satisfaction and sustained results to bottom-line profitability. The individual will be a change agent accustomed to implementing a data driven, team-oriented culture which embraces continuous improvement and ensures across-the-board operational and process excellence in all manufacturing business functions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams within all operations and business areas to achieve improvement goals, specific key responsibilities included: current state identification, improvement opportunity identification, and future state development
  • Provide effective change management and leadership in implementing the companies Lean Strategy
  • Mentor and train individuals/teams on Lean Strategy and serve as a subject matter expert and resource
  • Programs manage annual cost reduction plans, track performance and analyze/evaluate options to maximize value-added results
  • Facilitate improvement events and train/coach/mentor other team members in facilitation
  • Provide leadership to others and serve as a technical subject expert and resource
  • Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all Federal, State, Provincial, and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable proper personal protective equipment is utilized
  • Creating/presenting PowerPoints and presentations for Sr. Leadership
  • Other duties as assigned by CPO/Sr. Leadership

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8-10 years of experience with demonstrated change agent credentials (a proven track record of successfully leading change initiatives)
  • Ability to work well with all levels of employees, ranging from entry-level to senior level management
  • Strong roots in production, expert knowledge in Lean/Continuous Improvement/6 sigma methods
  • Strong leadership attributes with the ability to motivate and lead significant change processes with and through others
  • Excellent computer skills, Microsoft, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.
  • Excellent skills in cross-functional, team-based environment, with ability to effectively communicate and facilitate through encouragement, motivation, and inspiration at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of financial measurements and goals that can be directly correlated to Lean implementation
  • Successful leadership of Kaizen events
  • Expertise in Lean principles and the strategic and tactical application of appropriate tools, demonstrated ability to use and effectively instruct in the proper use of lean principles such as value stream mapping, Kaizen, 5S, heijunka, SMED, Takt Time/Cycle Time, Standardized Work, etc.

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA or Technical Degree required; Master’s degree highly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Certified Six Sigma, TPS, or other lean certifications
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 45+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
